I was able to fix the former exception, but the latter one is more subtle.  It 
appears two things are happening:

- The repositoryconnectorpool is being closed twice, but the stack traces for 
when this is getting closed are identical.  Which argues that there are TWO 
shutdown threads active, both doing the same thing.
- Even before the second attempt to close the pool, we're finding ephemeral 
nodes missing that really should be there

This only happens when shutting down webapps.
