I implemented this using Abe-san's sample patch code from CONNECTORS-345.
Unfortunately, the shutdown handler still causes Jetty various cleanup
exceptions even with Jetty 9, so I'm not sure I should be committing this for
distribution. The exceptions may (or may not) be harmless; currently there's
no way to tell.
