It seems that Tika 1.19 fixes many of the Tika-related issues and is due in a couple of weeks. I'm therefore going to recommend holding off until we get 1.19, or until we hear that it's out of the question, before we do a ManifoldCF release, since many of our outstanding issues relate to Tika and Apache POI.
