Karl Wright commented on CONNECTORS-1536: ----------------------------------------- Hmm. I wonder if it would be a good idea to add a Document Specification switch, defaulting to PDF, to maintain backwards compatibility. An alternative would be to have the connector pull BOTH native and PDF formats; that would be considered backwards compatible, I am pretty sure. > Having Google Docs native format documents exported as MS > Office/Open/LibreOffice formats instead of PDFs > --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- > > Key: CONNECTORS-1536 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CONNECTORS-1536 > Project: ManifoldCF > Issue Type: Improvement > Components: GoogleDrive connector > Affects Versions: ManifoldCF 2.10 > Reporter: Douglas C. R. Paes > Assignee: Karl Wright > Priority: Major > > When dealing with migration process, like when using the CMIS Output > Connector to ingest content into an ECM (Alfresco in my case), it would be > better to have the Google Docs native documents exported as some of the > editable formats, like MS Office or Open/Libre Office formats. > The reason for this is that users would like to keep updating content after > it is ingested into the ECM. > > I have this already "fixed" in my github fork at > [https://github.com/douglascrp/manifoldcf/tree/release-2.10-changed] > > I would like to contribute to the project if you guys find this an useful > improvement. -- This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v7.6.3#76005)
