relevant code from line 250 in:

{{/connectors/solr/connector/src/main/java/org/apache/manifoldcf/agents/output/solr/HttpPoster.java}}

ModifiedHttpSolrClient.java may also be interesting—a sub class of 
HttpSolrClient which includes missing multipart headers.
