Hi everyone, I've been in touch with a marketing representative of New York City's edition of the free "Metro" newspaper. They distribute 330,000 copies daily, which are read by 450,000 people. (It's a good, young, savvy demographic that would be ideal for potential OpenOffice.org users.) Metro has great ad rates for non-profits, and I think we could raise enough money using Fundable.org to run several backpage ads.
I'd love to have the input and assistance of marketing project members in this endeavor! I have a few first questions: For the prominent URL that will appear in the ad, of course we should direct readers straight to www.openoffice.org. Or, would it make more sense to send them to a download page directly? (I don't think so, since we have the prominent download link on the homepage, and the download page is more confusing...) I'll probably also want to put a link to NeoOffice.org for Mac users. (There are many in NYC.) The second big question is this: I'd like to put a link to a mailing list, so people can email and ask questions. Does [email protected] allow non-subscribed people to email it? Would there be a better list to direct them toward? That's my first batch of questions. Thanks for any support or suggestions you can provide! -Ben --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
