I see good collection of banners at

in order to use them I need to change text (from "Here comes the marketing
slogan" to something else). Those files are .png, so text is just bitmap and
not easily editable.

This placeholder text was put in at the time in a try to convince people to produce some meaningful official texts. I failed at this.

Is it possible to obtain the files (sepcifically
http://marketing.openoffice.org/art/galleries/marketing/web_banners/#nicu468
x60) in format where it is easier to change text? Or I am missing something?

As Alexandro already stated, these buttons have been created by Nicu Buculei ([EMAIL PROTECTED]).
In an issue about addition of alpha transparency to the buttons [1] he uploaded
all the SVG-sources for his buttons:
http://www.openoffice.org/nonav/issues/showattachment.cgi/40209/nicu_OOo_buttons.tar.gz

I didn't have a look at them specifically (and I'm not allowed to download them
here), but I hope the banners you refer to are included in this collection.

That is a button collection and does not include banners.

If not, you'll have to contact Nicu directly or ask in Issue 55665 [2] for
these files (Nicu is not subscribed to the mailing list, but reads Issue
comments, IIRC).

Yeah, I have all the SVG sources, but I'm not sure anyone would want to use them: they were made *before* the look for OOo 2.0 was defined and does not fit it, it a word they are obsolete. I imagine someone wanting web banners would use current graphics, not some rejected ones.
