Looks good - the incubator PMC has a lot of reports to process so being
brief and focused on the incubation process is right. YOu can imageine
that the first Q the IMPC has is "is the podling making progress?" and
the answer given by the report is clearly "yes."

:-)

Having the mailing list report after an IRC meeting is important and IMO
worth mentioning as mitigation of the barriers to people in different
timezones that IRC causes.

I'll mention such detail.

Is this IRC usage primarily due to LMF or will it continue after
Marmotta is separated out?

Yes, for sure, although probably not with this intensity. It'd depend on the target goal of each sprint.

Marmotta

An open implementation of a Linked Data Platform.

Marmotta has been incubating since 2012-12-03.

Three most important issues to address in the move towards graduation:

1. Ingest code and clear IP.
2. A release
3. Build dev and PMC.

Any issues that the Incubator PMC (IPMC) or ASF Board wish/need to be
aware of?

No such issues.

How has the community developed since the last report?

* Communication mechanisms have been successfully setup: the
dev@marmotta mailing list has quite important traffic, Jira already
registers 50 issues, periodic meeting at IRC. This enabled the
participation of new people in the community of the project.
* Branding (logo) almost ready. trademarks@apache already contacted.
* Awaiting for the site installation.

How has the project developed since the last report?

The project is about publish the last release of the former project
(LMF), to them contribute the parts that will be actually Marmotta. This
last full release already prepares some tasks for Marmotta, such as
architectural changes and dependencies clean up. After this major
milestone, the project's ambition is a rapid turnaround to get an Apache
incubator release as soon as possible.

Please check this [ ] when you have filled in the report for Marmotta.

Dear podling,

This email was sent by an automated system on behalf of the Apache
Incubator PMC.
It is an initial reminder to give you plenty of time to prepare your
quarterly
board report.

The board meeting is scheduled for Wed, 20 February 2013, 10:30:00:00
PST. The report
for your podling will form a part of the Incubator PMC report. The
Incubator PMC
requires your report to be submitted 2 weeks before the board meeting,
to allow
sufficient time for review and submission (Wed, Feb 6th).

Please submit your report with sufficient time to allow the incubator
PMC, and
subsequently board members to review and digest. Again, the very
latest you
should submit your report is 2 weeks prior to the board meeting.

Thanks,

The Apache Incubator PMC

Submitting your Report

Your report should contain the following:

* Your project name
* A brief description of your project, which assumes no knowledge of
the project
or necessarily of its field
* A list of the three most important issues to address in the move
towards
graduation.
* Any issues that the Incubator PMC or ASF Board might wish/need to
be aware of
* How has the community developed since the last report
* How has the project developed since the last report.

This should be appended to the Incubator Wiki page at:

http://wiki.apache.org/incubator/February2013

Note: This manually populated. You may need to wait a little before
this page is
created from a template.

Mentors
-------
Mentors should review reports for their project(s) and sign them off
on the
Incubator wiki page. Signing off reports shows that you are following
the
project - projects that are not signed may raise alarms for the
Incubator PMC.
