FMPOV is too early to think about such option. We still need to
demonstrate some things: stablish releases cycles, being able to publish
maintenance releases, grow the community, etc.

Do you think we could be ready? Personally I'm not sure.

All good points, especially the transition from the original single-site
team to the wider community of developers.

Still under construction, but I think our community is starting to evolve in the right direction :-)

The test question whether being in incubation helps in any way with
those things or whether its merely which side of some arbitrary line the
project is while progressing those issues.

In the last months we have worked very hard to address those issues. And, as many things, when a project should do the transition is a very subjective decision.

So concretely - what more can incubation give you?

Really nothing else, true. Personally I'd prefer to await until having out a couple of releases more before doing the TLP transition; that would certify we are actually a project. But I trust on your criteria if you think that's the right step now.

Cheers,
