Nice work folks ! I went through the RFC and it seems to me the concerns around a badly designed code as an outcome plus an alignment that there is indeed a new mindset and list of goals for the project to achieve would make the REWRITE from scratch my vote. I guess a reasonable amount of code , and mostly knowledge acquired , can be useful anyway as usual.
