Yes, Im definitely on beta10. The relevant bits from my project.xml are
<dependency>
<groupId>xdoclet</groupId>
<artifactId>xdoclet-ejb-module</artifactId>
<version>1.2b4</version>
<url>http://xdoclet.sourceforge.net/</url>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>xdoclet</groupId>
<artifactId>xjavadoc</artifactId>
<version>1.0</version>
<url>http://xdoclet.sourceforge.net/</url>
<jar>xjavadoc-1.0.jar</jar>
</dependency>
I am using a local repository at /usr/local/maven/repository
and in there I have
xdoclet/jars/xdoclet-ejb-module-1.2b4.jar
xdoclet/jars/xjavadoc-1.0.jar
I have deleted my ~/.maven and then try a 'maven java:compile' and i get

It INSISTS on prefixing xdoclet on the xjavadoc jar even though I've even specified
the <jar> name.

I have the following dependencies in my project.xml
<dependency>
??? <groupId>xdoclet</groupId>
??? <artifactId>xdoclet-ejb-module</artifactId>
??? <version>1.2b4</version>
??? <url>http://xdoclet.sourceforge.net/</url>
??? </dependency>
<dependency>
??? <groupId>xdoclet</groupId>
??? <artifactId>xjavadoc</artifactId>
??? <version>1.0</version>
??? <url>http://xdoclet.sourceforge.net/</url>
</dependency>
I have installed the repository jars
xdoclet/jars/xdoclet-ejb-module-1.2b4.jar and
xdoclet/jars/xjavadoc-1.2b4.jar
When I try "maven clean" it finds the first of these, yet on the second it complains
that it cant find xdoclet-xjavadoc-1.0.jar
If I add the line <jar>xjavadoc-1.0.jar</jar> to the second dependency it doesnt
improve either ... still looking for xdoclet-xjavadoc-1.0.jar
