Good call. I added the following README's pointing to the EOL pages:
- http://www.apache.org/dist/maven/maven-1/README.txt
- http://www.apache.org/dist/maven/maven-2/README.txt
I haven't removed the old ones yet, in case there are further concerns
raised.
