Yes, and webserver is awfully similar too. I think that there should just be a "server" plugin that does most of the shared stuff, then individual appservers should have their own plugin (like the Jetty one), that utilise that to do the configuration and any common start/stop stuff.
We'll hold all this off until m2, as writing these in pure Java would be a whole lot better. Maybe we can look at working with Vincent on his container project idea, or at least reuse the stuff already in cactus.
