Paul,
Regarding the id/groupId issue, I think the upload page is wrong, as the POM
should have either the id or the groupId/artifactId pair - Carlos, could you
confirm that (and fix the upload page)?
Regarding the groupId, if I understood it correctly, this is in fact an
artefact produced by the hibernate group - at least it is available at
hibernate's files page at sourceforge. So, to me it makes sense to keep the
groupId as hibernate, but we better check with the hibernate folks first them
(any volunteer for that?)

http://jira.codehaus.org/secure/attachment/13531/hibernate-tools-2.1.3-bundle.jar

Hibernate tools is a jar that includes a number of API classes for working with
Hibernate, helping to enable roundtrip development of code to DB, and
vice-versa.
This request is not connected to the sourceforge project that developed the
hibernate-tools API in any way. I have supplied the URL of this project for
information only. I am submitting a patch for the maven-hibernate plugin that
makes use of part of the hibernate-tools API and so would like to see it
available on ibiblio. (http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MPHIBERNATE-12 is the
location of the jira that covers the amendement to the plugin I am submitting).
