This is being used instead of repo1.maven.org so that deployed artifacts end up in the CI immediately and we don't need to be running manual syncs and manual ci's all the time.
it is configured in ~/.m2/settings.xml: http://people.apache.org/~brett/maven-stage-site/maven2/configuration.html You might like to use it locally yourself, but please make sure that production releases are done cleanly against repo1.
