Hello everyone,

This is a vote to release Maven 2.0 alpha 3 and all plugins in SVN on
Wednesday, June 22. I realize that this is relatively short notice, but
we've been pushing right up to the wire to get as many of these issues
fixed before we release. Now, it appears we're ready. :)

As you'll notice, JIRA is up-to-date for this release.

Among the new features of this release, you'll find:

* plugin-version registration
* a vastly improved build lifecycle
* transitive-dependency filtering
* on-demand resolution of plugins and their dependencies
* various reporting enhancements, including report configuration
* and many more

It's worth noting that dependency-version ranges and plugin-prefix
searches are going to have to wait for the next release, where we will
have a better opportunity to test the implications and implementations
of these rather large features.

It's also worth reiterating that in this release we've made significant
changes to the lifecycle, and the way plugins are handled. While we're
attempting to make the core plugins backward compatible where possible,
there will be some plugins which simply won't work unless you have -alpha-3.

This vote will last until we have a majority (4) from the PMC members,
though committers and community members are encouraged to vote also.
