Your final question would indicate that you did not read the admittedly
long message yesterday. It had two different failures, one before
cleaning the repository and one after doing so. It also pointed out the
fact that I am getting 503 errors (service unavailable) from ibiblio
which is causing the build to abort.

Ok, this is quite strange. As I said with the ci script - it does clean
builds every day and is going along ok.
What settings.xml do you have? Any mirrors, proxies, etc? Any local
changes to the source code?
Did you end up cleaning out the repository? Did it help?
