this has been brought up in other forms before, reasons for not implementing:
- as detailed in MNG-1890, parents can be used to reuse content
- pom.xml should *not* contain maven.xml, that should be put into plugins
(antrun should be used sparingly)
- there is a proposal before the dev list to possibly separate the pom into
several sections which would be the preferred solution
- there is also proposals up for reusable configurations for plugins
- pom needs to be unified for the reasons listed in MNG-1890
as for XInclude - our parser doesn't currently support that so it would be out
anyway.
