Hi,
I whipped up a small DOAP plugin, created the basic docs for it
and would like to release a first version to get it out there and
get some feedback. As indicated in the documentation it is geared
toward use at Apache right now but can be expanded in the future
as more people become interested in DOAP. The plugin was made to
help folks in the Incubator create DOAP files from the POM so
that they didn't have to maintain two pieces of metadata. I
deployed the site and I think we're back in the 4 hour so it will
be a bit before it goes up.
I'm +0 to a 1.0 release as it is now. I think it would be best to
cut a beta 1 release and try that on all the Apache projects before
you make it a 1.0 release. The "1.0" stamp is a stamp saying that
the plugin is working, stable and useful for it's defined domain.
As it is now I doubt it has been tested on a lot of projects and
how can we be sure that is reaches those goals/levels.
I'm fine with a beta-1 too, it's just there's no behaviour really.
It's a straight conversion. I've updated the doco and I'll just
release a beta which is fine. Just wanted it to be easy to try. Using
snapshots is more difficult then it should be.
If I'm wrong and you do feel that it is good enough for a 1.0 I'm +1.
