I have some changes here for site.xml and index.xml that I haven't finished yet since I got off the plane, but I'll wrap them up on the way back and make a proposal for some additional changes.

Just work it out with Eric and make the changes, this is the first time in a dogs age we've made some progress. I'm sure you two can sort it out and people will give you feedback when you do it. You will get feedback but the people who do the work get to decide. I don't think you can make the site worse :-)

Yup. How about I commit my stuff on a branch, and Eric can incorporate stuff he thinks is worthwhile? I'm not going to have much time after I get back.

I think that sounds great. I'm sure we'll get some feedback from users and we can move toward some automatic categorization but until we do it manually a few times we won't see what needs to be done. I'll site my favorite quote:

---
People develop abstractions by generalizing from concrete examples.
Every attempt to determine the correct abstraction on paper without
actually developing a running system is doomed to failure. No one
is that smart. A framework is a resuable design, so you develop it by
looking at the things it is supposed to be a design of. The more examples
you look at, the more general your framework will be.
---

I think we can make some patterns for kick ass site maintenance and presentation for all projects and with a few rounds of Eric doing some work I think we can.

Jason.

Eric - ok with you?

BTW, +1 on em's as long as it's applied to the actual skin (and should maven-site.vm modify the skin too?). It just looked a bit small, and lots of the images were misaligned. I'd rather stick with the px's until the em's look right.

Cheers,
Brett
