Um - any reason that 2.0.8.1 can't be released that only contains an
update to the superpom's plugin-set? (again, assuming this line of
action is pursued)

updates on a more regular basis, i.e. at least once a month.
I know releases are getting more regular, but from my experience on
the
Hudson project, release early, release often is far better than the
long
release cycles, e.g. 2.0.4 to 2.0.5.
Of course Hudson is release early - release often on steriods!
