beta-1 is actually ready IMO, the two open issues are minor and can be
postponed.
However, I do not understand why you say that MNG-3402 is dependent on a
doxia release? The aim of MNG-3402 is exactly to make maven independent
of the doxia version. If your intention is to bumb to doxia-beta-1
everywhere then I would like to call for caution: beta-1 has seen a lot
of changes wrt the alpha branch and my feeling is that it's not tested
widely enough to be used bona fide at prime time. OTOH, there is
probably no better way to get it tested than to include it in maven...
