Does anyone have something that you want added before a release?
I was just looking through some issues in the Deploy Plugin and noticed MDEPLOY-88 which is a request to validate the groupId+artifactId during deploy-file just like the ModelValidator from maven-project would do. This sounds reasonable/consistent to me and would as well apply to install-file.
I imagine the plugins could have the ModelValidator injected, populate a minimal Model with the user-supplied GAV data, run the validator and bail out upon violations. Unless somebody has objections to this approach, this could be an easy fix for inclusion in the next release.
