I believe this is the verifier that changed. The embedded tests don't work in
general and I tried with Maven 3.0.3 and 3.0.4 andific the log output is not
captured to a file which is what causes the test failures. For the tests that
are looking specifically for things in the log.txt.

Our achievements speak for themselves. What we have to keep track
of are our failures, discouragements and doubts. We tend to forget
the past difficulties, the many false starts, and the painful
groping. We see our past achievements as the end result of a
clean forward thrust, and our present difficulties as
signs of decline and decay.
