Confirming that passing LIBS='-lsnappy' is a workaround
(with snappy-1.1.0)
Within the build directory ( after doing a ./bootstrap && mkdir build && cd
build )
{code}
LIBS='-lsnappy' ../configure
make && make check
{code}
No errors were reported.
