I got so far as having the python egg working and framework running on
Mavericks.
Unfortunately with some bad news; python (both the one bundled with OS X and
the one built with brew) is compiled with clang and therefore use the new
non-GCC stdlibc(++). When the eggs (which are built with GCC and expects a GCC
stdlibc) are loaded, internal symbols cannot be resolved.
I solved it by compiling python with GCC, but I would recommend that we for now
disable python support on Mavericks until we can build Mesos with clang.
Think this should do it:
CC=gcc-4.8 CXX=g++-4.8 ../configure --disable-python
Getting Mesos to build with clang would really solve a lot of problems.
Shipping packaged mesos distributions compiled with GCC on Mavericks will
probably also fail due to missing GCC compatible libstdc++.
