Thanx for all hints regarding the topic!
The main problem now will be to decide for one of the projects :)

You're welcome.
No surprise you didn't hear about Mailster as it is a project i started 4
months ago. I hope the project will spread out as i'm doing my best to output
as much quality and efficiency in this code. Maybe i should do more to promote
this open source project. Anyway, If you do have any suggestions feel free to
let me know about it.
Subethasmtp is an event driven SMTP server so patching it to use a SEDA NIO
framework seemed to me totally natural and should give extra performances. There
could be another performance proof of concept comparing subethasmtp with &
without MINA if anyone has the time to test it ;)
(Note : the patch is based on mina 1.1.0)

Edouard

Maybe you can checkout my own project at
http://sourceforge.net/projects/mailster (a mail testing environment)
it features a blocking IO SMTP server and a POP3 server using MINA.
The reason SMTP isn't already ported to MINA is that i'm thinking of using
subetha SMTP (http://subethasmtp.tigris.org) server which i patched to use MINA
(see http://www.subethamail.org/se/archive_msg.jsp?msgId=24645 )

PS : MINA team keep up the good work Here's a screenshot giving credits back to
MINA :)

My only problem is: I need a working example end of next week ;)
HausMail (that I linked previously) is more than a working example!
You can browse/checkout the source repository: there is much to learn
and it supports StartTLS too!
