Hi,
I'm a developer in Seattle who just found MINA 1.1 yesterday. It is one of
the coolest open source projects that I have ever compiled against!
Thanks for making MINA, I was able to convert our threaded, Blocking IO
server to MINA in a few hours yesterday, using a custom binary protocol for
a gameserver. I think it has an excellent API and I'm looking forward to the
impovements with the next release. I've been working on this server project
for less than 2 weeks, and researching it for 3 weeks. I was googling around
like crazy looking for good examples of using NIO or possibly a framework,
and I had never heard of MINA, and wasn't getting any good hits that lead me
to MINA. I didn't find anything good so proceeded using
POJ.net.ServerSocket... Well yesterday I decided to google a little more
because I was super dissatisfied with my implementation when there were a
few hundred connections, and somehow I entered the magic words and found
mina.apache.org, and spent a few hours reading everything and determining if
this was the way to go... I was convinved after the first 5 minutes, and
after reading everything I could find on the site, and looking at a lot of
the samples (esp. the sumup sample) it only took me a few hours of good
hacking to get the basic conversions to MINA done. It isn't quite working
perfectly yet, but it is well on the way. I found the good samples made up
for the (somewhat sparse) documentation (but you have the core things
covered and every line of it was useful and helpful).
I'm suprised there is no orielly book for it, but I'm sure that will change.
I think that mina might need to get link-bombed so it comes up with better
google results, but then again my search terms may have been lacking :)
Anyways, you probably didn't make it this far in the message and the only
thing I really wanted to say was thanks for making such a good library!!
Thanks again!
I am sorry for the extremely late response. I have been very very
busy recently because of changing my job. Please forgive me if you
felt you were ignored.
I am very happy to hear that you are satisfied with MINA. Please let
us know whenever you got any related issue, then the community will
help you as much as possible. You can subscribe to the mailing list
or use the support forum instead.
If you are interested, you could write a a little bit shorter version
of testimonial like others did:

Cheers,
Trustin
