regarding #2: Opening docs/index.html or docs/downloads.html (and
possibly other pages as well) from the extracted M3 distribution zip
shows only M2 and not M3 (in contrast, javadocs/core/index.html has the
correct M3 title - as a sanity check that the distribution is indeed the
M3 one).
