I am inclined to agree with you - time permitting I will try to review some of 
the code involving channels and see if the code is indeed too strict with the 
intent of modifying it so it would not affect the session. Based on your work 
on this issue, perhaps you remember encountering such "suspect" pieces of code 
and can suggest such modifications.
