With further testing and validation, we figured out a way to keep the extension 
mechanism for the higher version JDK. The open tickets to replacing the 
Utils.getNonVolatileMemoryAllocatorService and 
Utils.getVolatileMemoryAllocatorService calls will be closed, and more new 
tickets will be submitted soon.
