Hi,

From what I've understood in the current repository, it's not possible to
get poulsbo's specific video acceleration (for decoding with libva & ffmpeg)
in current 2.6.29.menlow code, because it's missing Xpsb.so and psb_dri.so
and msvdx_fw.bin, right ?

I've tried to build and oldest Xorg 1.4 version so I could use the psb.ko et
al from Dell's Mini12 image.
In that case, I get a mismatch from psb X driver's and drm version in kernel

(exact text is:
(WW) PSB(0): [drm] DRM is not compatible with this driver.
        Kernel DRM version: 8.0.0
        and I can work with versions 3.0.x - 4.x.x
Please update either this 2D driver or your kernel DRM.
        Disabling DRI.

>From that message, I'm deducing the psb.ko code in kernel isn't the same in
2.6.29.menlow kernel as the one in ubuntu. I couldn't find the 2.6.29.menlow
kernel source either to verify.
I don't see any msvdx_fw.bin request in kernel log either.

So, I'm wondering if it's worth continueing in this direction (trying to
compile a new psb driver from dri mailing list).
Will it support video acceleration ?

Sincerely,
Cyril
