Actually, I set up Eclipse on my netbook for development. It's really straight forward.

The first thing is to go to java.sun.com and get the latest jre (use the se version, not enterprise or personal version).

After that get Eclipse itself from the the Eclipse website and install. It's all quite straight forward.

As for including it in the image, I can understand why it isn't included. It's really easy to get separately, and would otherwise be just another thing that the project mantainers would need to keep updated and relevant.

Good luck,
Snowdall

Hello everyone,

I have a question about setting up a development environment, as described on http://moblin.org/documentation/moblin-sdk/create-new-application#dev-environment

I'd like to be able to work within the development image (VMware in my case), and I did not see Eclipse in the Moblin-development yum repository. I enabled all the repositories from the Menu, Settings, Software Sources, and confirmed they were in the yum configuration file. ("yum list | egrep eclipse" didn't turn up anything)

Is there a particular recommended repository for installing Eclipse within Moblin v2? I might be misunderstanding what (and how) tools are installed within (or for) the development image. Eclipse is installed and working on the linux host station.

Thanks so much for the list, and any guidance or recommendations any of you might have for me.
