Hi All,

Using the beta build on a Dell Mini 10v (1011) - works fine, apart from the Connection Manager, that doesn't detect the WLAN device (Therefore Wired Only). WLAN Device is a 'Dell Wireless 1397 (802.11 b/g) Mini Card European '.

Is there a workaround to get this working ? (The unit shipped with Ubuntu 8.04).

unfortunately this device is a broadcom chip which isn't well supported in linux...

Else - can someone tell me which WiFi Cards are supported and I'll replace it accordingly.
thx

anything non-broadcom will work, including intel cards ;-)

For background on how to get this going:

http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Drivers/b43

Summary: the b43 kernel module will work but you need the b43-fwcutter tool to scrape the firmware out of a windows driver. If you're lazy and don't care about legal issues, you can most certainly find the firmwares already cut for you on the internet.

cheers,

Kris
