In the creation of an image we execute binaries that we pull from the
Moblin package repository which are in turn built by the Moblin build
system. We do this to ensure that we generate the same image regardless
of the distribution installed on the machine that is creating the image.

Since our build system builds ssse3 enabled code, then you need a modern
cpu to run mic2.
