as for using it for the rootfs....
we're seriously looking at btrfs right now, the next generation linux
filesystem.
If it holds up in basic testing, btrfs has many very attractive features that
make things nice
in terms of snapshots ("restore to factory default" etc), data integrity,
compression etc etc, not to mention
performance.
