How do I do the same in Moblin? When I launch pidgin or skype, what do
I do with it when I'm not using it? How do I interact with it?
We don't have a notification area, so don't close the roster window.
Not really very friendly compared to a teeny icon in a notification area.
If you want something which is better integrated into the Moblin UX, I
can recommend the Moblin IM system. It uses Telepathy and I believe we
ship telepathy-purple by default which means you have access to every
protocol that Pidgen uses (because it literally uses the code in
pidgen).
List, pidgin is just an example. To answer that question, until Empathy
supports email notification (which will be 'never' according to
upstream), Pidgin will be my messenger client. Lack of email
notification is a complete deal breaker for me.
Either way, pidgin is just an example. Let's use Skype instead so
people don't get off course. Skype needs to be running so that I can
get incoming calls. What if I want to make a call? Do I have to leave
my window open forever because once it's hidden, I can never see it
again. Do you have an integrated version of Skype for moblin?
cheers,
Kris
