Hi, I am a total newbie with Moblin.
Please excuse me if I am in the wrong forum.
My machine is an mITX Intel D945GCLF2 + 2GB RAM + laptop ATA disk
drive.
I load moblin-2.1-preview-20091008-001.img using
win32diskimager-RELEASE-0.2-r23-win32 onto a 2GB Flash stick
without any problem.
I can boot into the USB Flash stick with no problem.
But then I am totally unable to figure out how to tell Moblin that
my mITX has a static IP address of 10.0.0.2. I have tried
everything and the bar at the bottom of the network management
window is grayed out and I can not activate it.
-----------------------------------
second problem: installing moblin onto the hard disk. Moblin seems
to only want to install onto a Primary partition (unlike my other
Linux experience). I don't want to blow away Ubuntu 9.10 Alpha 6
which is my first partition. Second partition is 4GB swap. How do
I install moblin without screwing up grub or my first disk partition?
I fired up a CDROM or partedmagic and gparted and created various
extended partitions and Moblin will not recognize them at install
time.
-----------------------------------
any suggestions welcomed,
thank you for your patience with a newbie,
Ken - Chicago, IL USA
