as far as the comments to this blog say:

*"buz: nbtk will be deprecated in Moblin 2.2. It is already in maintenance
only mode."*

so I guess if you have 2 years long-term project plans, it is probably not a
good idea to use nbtk.
I am also at the point where I am picking up UI strategy for my project and
your question was a very good hint, thanks!
