Hey Guys, I know a lot of this is still up in the air with the MeeGo project. But I'm hoping that we can get something in the way of feedback from the Intel guys. Speaking as a Moblin 2.1 user, I've a question.
Moblin 2.2 was due to be released around April. There's been no official comment on what happens now with the Moblin platform. Many of us are speculating that MeeGo 1.0 for NetBooks will be essentially Moblin 2.2 + extra stuff that's not been disclosed and released approximately at the same time as 2.2 was due. However the more time goes on, the more engineering get involved in what was obviously a higher level discussion on MeeGo, the less sure we are of what we'll get with MeeGo 1.0 as the technical details are only now being worked out it seems. There's been an awful lot of work gone into the Moblin infrastructure as per what was in the trunk repo. However, the trunk repo is now gone. Possibly due to re-architecture of the servers, possibly due to not wanting everyone to see what's happening behind the MeeGo curtain. What I'd like to know is, will we see some sort of Post 2.1 updates rolled into Moblin as a release. Is that deemed a waste of time is it already planned for, what's going on. Intel have never been particularly good with sharing product roadmap details on this platform, so I'm hoping that we'll have some sort of improvement here. When discussing things on IRC, it's clear that 2.1 is classified as old tech and what's cooking now is much better, solves x,y and z issues etc. That's no good to any of us until we see it.
