I am certainly interested in it. This is more convenient, as nothing needs to be installed or configured prior to running the mvn command, it simply pulls the code down and runs the embedded tomcat.

Hi, I have written a simple plugin that starts an embedded tomcat server, using the project's war directory as context, much like the jetty6 plugin provides. Would there be interest in adding this mojo to the tomcat-maven-plugin? I think it's very convenient, since you don't need to have a tomcat installed, the plugin handles everything...
