Hmm,
A week later and there's been exactly one reply. Maybe I'm the only
one who does care either way about seeing the jboss-packaging-maven-
plugin 2.0 release.
However, I do still care. Who do I need to talk to about getting
commit access and JIRA access so that I can fix and close the bugs
I've got patches for, and so that I can write up the remaining docco
for the codehaus release requirements?

Owen,
Some of my fingerprints may still reside on this plugin, but I claim
no ownership. In fact, most of the original code was pooched from
the older jboss plugin (jboss-sar-plugin maybe) hosted at
mojo.codehaus.org. FYI, my team changed direction and we haven't
used the jboss-packaging plugin in over a year. Thankfully, others
have picked up the maintenance.

Who owns the jboss-packaging maven plugin project? Anyone?
I ask because I'm interested in seeing the plugin released (either in
its current state or with some subset of its outstanding issues
resolved) and, if nobody else is doing so, I'm happy to do it.
I've been using the plugin myself for several months and in the course
of using it I've had opportunity to review the source and I think it's
in good shape and needs very little in the way of change; this isn't a
request for permission to go in and start monkeying with it. However,
the fact that it's sitting in the sandbox means I can only use local
"releases" forked from the code in mojo-sandbox-3 for projects managed
by the release plugin. Furthermore, it's unclear when and whether the
version I'm using has had various minor issues (see JIRA) fixed. I'm
sure other users are in the same situation. Having a 2.0 non-SNAPSHOT
build would obviate all of this.
I see from the commit logs that there are active developers on this
plugin, so I don't want to step on anyone's toes, but I'd love to see
the plugin released. JIRA could use a little gardening as well; there
are a few issues still outstanding that have actually been fixed.
