Dennis Lundberg commented on MFINDBUGS-47:
------------------------------------------

Which lists were that? I could not find any such threads in either mojo-dev or
mojo-user lists.

My concern is not about compiling the plugin. That's a developer chore and can
be dealt with. I do however worry about the users. All Apache Maven plugins
have a minimum and maximum Java requirement of 1.4. I thought the same rules
applied here in the Mojo project, but I could be wrong.

If a Mojo plugin should start to require Java 1.5 it would at least have to be
advertised *very* clearly on the web site and also be enforced using
maven-enforcer-plugin, so that users that are on Java 1.4 get a meaningful
error message.

> The 1.2-snapshot version still uses the old findbugs 1.2.0 release. Would be
> cool if the current release could be integrated (1.3.1).
