I wrote an m2e Extension for the AspectJ plugin, see
https://github.com/hwellmann/m2eclipse-extras/tree/master/org.omadac.m2e.aspectj.
Running under m2e, the aspectj-maven-plugin hit a NullPointerException, which I
fixed with the attached patch.
I don't know enough about Maven internals to decide if this a good solution, or
if this a problem of my extension, of the aspectj-maven-plugin, or of m2e, or
of Maven itself.
Somehow this smells like a Maven 2/Maven 3 incompatibility and might be related
to MASPECTJ-101.
