You're right Robert, I'm not talking about the xml file of differences (ran against two versions). I'm talking about the xml file describing the API of one version which exactly what org.codehaus.mojo.jdiff.JDiffMojo.generateJDiffXML(MavenProject, String) produces. I have a use case where I want to defer the generation of the "JDiffXML" from the jdiff report itself (etheir xml or html). I need this because of a simple reason, it takes ages to fetch and crawl the whole source tree. I hope that helps to understand the reasoning behind this new improvement request. I can attach an JDiffXML example in case this comment is not clear enough .
