I don't see, why I should add a maven-compiler-plugin to my pom. I was thinking that stuff like that will be provided (correctly) by maven.

Hello Matthias, the apache snapshot repository is enabed for dependencies and plugins. You should add a version to the maven-compiler-plugin. I think 2.0.1 is the latest stable version.
