ok - so you have to go into your IDE and setup something differently. I
hereby introduce you to an Open Source project where new community members
are effectively hindered to download the sources, do a clean build, and do a
change/restart-cycle without a full build, and without having to setup
something special in their IDE: MyFaces. Instead, on every change in either
shared or any of the component classes (thanks to the template approach, no
we are up to I would say 30-40% of the MyFaces sources which need a full
build on a change) they will have to do a full maven build again. Good luck
with finding people interested in finding and fixing bugs like this. For the
committers, it is very much the same - change/rebuild/restart,
change/rebuild/restart, change/rebuild/restart... do you really appreciate
this pattern of MyFaces development?

Now with the component-templates, you also don't have code-complete, etc.
when writing it - so you're walking in the dark without IDE support, which
will mean even more change/restart-cycles. Don't you see why Mario is not
interested in this?

regards,

Martin
