Hi,

The OOo Swedish community is apparently small but growing, and has been without a lead for a while.

After a brief dialog with Charles, I've decided to try my hand at rejuvenating the OOo Swedish project (sv.openoffice.org) that has remained orphaned. My native language is English, I can write in Swedish well enough to be understood about as much as my English, but do make errors.

I read Swedish confortably and get by in Norwegian, Danish, Spanish and a useless, but increasing, amount of Finnish. I understand spoken Swedish, including most regional variants, and the far north variants of Norwegian. I speak Swedish well enough that I've spoken at conferences and that university students have preferred it to my English or even to native speakers with strong regional accents. Many people over 50 peg my accent as being from some English speaking country. Many others guess Icelandic. (I'm still trying to figure that out. A native Icelander assumed from my speech that I am Norwegian.)

Anyway, I've lived and worked in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland, spend my time avoiding work nowadays.
