No, a Sun team has a already done great work that you can test on a
special snapshot here :

The aim of this document is to give informations on what is currently
done and what remains to be done. I guess this will help us to find new
developers interested in this area (Pierre Andre Galmes has joined and
you can find his contribution on the Chart part of the wiki :).
I guess also that it will bring interest for members to test the
snapshot and help the development team, the document here gives a
graphical explanation of what is explained on the issue where it is
sometimes difficult to understand and difficult to find them.
Well, a way to market our new graph module in and out our community ;)
