Weytk-p, My name is Neskie Manuel. I am the coordinator for the Secwepemc Software translators [1]. We are working on the localization of software into Secwepemctsin. The English name is Shuswap and the ISO 639-3 code is shs. So far we have a keyboard layout that has been committed into xkeyboard-config at freedsktop.org [2] and in Ubuntu. I have been in contact with a Chris Harvey at Languagegeek.com to package the Aboriginal Fonts for Debian/Ubuntu. We also have a locale that has been created so that we can start translating other programs. We are now starting to reach out to the various important programs that most Secwepemc users will make use of on a daily basis. We would like to continue our l10n work with Open Office. Hopefully with the help of some language revitalization grants there will be a lot of work done over the summer.
Welcome to the Native-Language Confederation, Neskie. We're happy to offer the opportunity for your language to exist in a digital world. I guess you wish to apply for a level 1 native-language project?
In any case, I'd also need your OpenOffice.org username. Best Regards, Charles-H. Schulz. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
